VantaQueen watches a lot of body cam videos on YouTube, so I hear them in the background while I'm writing code. I swear I don't remember people being this stupid in the 80s. Drunk driving. No license. Suspended license. Warrants. Then they get pulled over and somehow THEY'RE pissed at the cop.

I have absolutely no tolerance for stupidity. Do the crime, do the time. Talk shit, get hit. You screwed up? Own it. Deal with the consequences and move on. I know stupid people aren't new. We just didn't have YouTube delivering them directly into our living rooms back then. But I think something really has changed.

Erosion.

Self-respect. Personal responsibility. Respect for other people. Respect for authority. Common sense. Somewhere along the way "leave me alone and I'll handle my own shit" became "I can do whatever I want and nobody can tell me shit."

Anyway, back to code while another dumbass explains why the suspended license, open bottle and three warrants aren't his fault.

I miss the 80s. Can someone hurry the hell up with the time machine already? I want to go home.
