Hamster Days
The economy sucks. It really sucks.
I work full-time. I make good money. I'm paying the bills. I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. VantaQueen even started doing UberEats to bring in some extra money. Two incomes PLUS UberEats would make you think things should be getting better.
But somehow trying to do all of that AND start Lonely Ranch Games feels damn near impossible.
Every time I get to the point where I think, "Okay. Bills are paid. I've got a little breathing room. I can put some money into LRG, buy that asset, pay for that service, actually move something forward..." some dumbass bill I forgot about comes walking through the door.
"Oh no you can't." And there goes the money.
Some days I really do wonder if I'm lying to myself about LRG actually making it. I can write all the code I want. I can build games. I can make plans for the company. I can work my ass off at my day job and come home and work some more.
But if every dollar is already spoken for before I make it, how the hell do I ever get ahead enough to actually build this thing?
There are days when I look at Lonely Ranch Games and think, "I can do this." There are other days when I feel like a hamster running his ass off on a wheel that's going absolutely nowhere.
Lately there seem to be a lot more hamster days.
