Clearing the Runway

It's Sunday morning, just after 8am. I've been up since 6 working on Salvage Run. Apparently two hours of coding before most people have finished their coffee is how I spend my days off now. LOL.

I've been getting version 1.1 ready for release. Better controller support, including PlayStation, Switch Pro, and generic USB/Bluetooth controllers, some gameplay fixes, and all the other little things that need attention before putting it out there. I also went back to that damn antivirus warning from before the game jam submission. I still wonder if that had something to do with us getting knocked out in the first round. I can't prove anything, but it bothers me enough that I wanted to dig into it.

Microsoft estimates our business verification should be completed October 28th. Hopefully that means we'll finally be able to start digitally signing our software. I've got a few things that are finished or damn close, and I'd rather have everything ready to go than be scrambling once Microsoft gives us the green light.

Friday I finally got the Neon Chain update finished and submitted to Google Play. One less thing hanging over my head, and I beat the November 1st deadline. VantaQueen and I spent a good portion of the rest of the day laying in bed watching TV and catching up on shows. It was nice to just do absolutely nothing for a while.

Saturday I spent most of the day on LastLook. I thought this thing was ready, but apparently Windows and OneDrive had other ideas. More testing, more fixes, and every time I thought I was done, something else popped up. At one point I was dealing with third-party licenses and legal notices. Because apparently writing the damn software isn't enough. Now I have to worry about all that other shit too.

Saturday evening my nephew Cloudy and some friends surprised us with a visit. We ended up going to the Tequila Factory and hanging out for a while. It was great seeing them, and I'm really happy to see they're doing good.

So here I am, Sunday morning, back at the computer. Neon Chain is submitted, and LastLook and Salvage Run are both ready for release as soon as we can get them digitally signed. Naches Tech is still sitting there waiting for me, but I'm not touching it until I get some of this other stuff out the door.

Now I just need Microsoft to hurry the hell up.
