Privacy Policy

Introduction

CybrVillain's .plan (cybrvillain.com) is published by The CybrThugs, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the site, subscribe to .plan email updates, or follow links to and from the site.

Information We May Collect

The web server may keep ordinary technical logs needed to operate and secure the site, such as request paths, timestamps, response status, browser information, and network information.

When first-party analytics are enabled, the site records page loads, which .plan entry was shown, the src tag carried by a link (for example ?src=discord), the referring site's host and broad category without its path or query string, and the browser type derived from its user-agent string. A small script on the page sends one request back to the site when the page is displayed, so the site can tell ordinary browsers apart from crawlers and link-preview services. It does not measure scrolling, reading time, clicks, or anything you type.

If you subscribe to email updates, you provide an email address. The site stores it with the time, network address and browser information of the sign-up request, and sends a confirmation email and one email for each new .plan.

Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The public site does not provide visitor accounts, checkout, or advertising tracking. The current analytics do not store raw IP addresses, raw visitor-cookie values, precise location, or advertising identifiers. They do not use browser fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, or individual visitor profiles.

The site's earlier page-load logging recorded network address and browser information with each request. Those older records are retained, and that logging continues for a short transition period alongside the current analytics, subject to the same opt-out and browser privacy signals described below.

How We Use Information

Information handled by the site is used to operate and secure it, deliver requested email updates, understand aggregate interest in .plan entries and where readers come from, diagnose problems, and improve the site.

Third-Party Services

The site relies on service providers for hosting and email delivery. Those providers may process information needed to deliver their services under their own terms and privacy policies. New .plan entries may also be announced on Discord.

The site links to external services such as social platforms. Once you follow an external link, that provider's privacy practices and terms apply. CybrVillain's .plan does not control those services.

Cookies and Analytics

CybrVillain's .plan automatically uses privacy-conscious first-party site analytics on eligible public requests. Analytics records page loads and uses a first-party anonymous browser identifier to recognize a returning browser and report unique browsers. Its random value contains no name, email address, IP address, user-agent data, or other personal information. The server stores only a keyed one-way digest of that value.

The visitor cookie expires 180 days after it is first issued and is not renewed on returning visits. Analytics visit records are retained for 180 days and then removed by a controlled cleanup process. Only daily totals without any identifier are kept after that.

The cookie is used only for aggregate site statistics, not advertising, cross-site tracking, browser fingerprinting, or individual visitor profiles. Different browsers or devices can count separately, so unique browsers represent distinct anonymous browsers rather than an exact count of people. Search-engine crawlers and link-preview services never receive the cookie; their requests are recorded only as raw requests so they can be kept out of visitor counts.

You may stop analytics collection at any time using the opt-out below. Opting out removes the anonymous visitor identifier and saves a preference that prevents subsequent analytics events. You may also clear or block cookies in your browser, or enable DNT or Global Privacy Control. Public pages and links continue to work without analytics.

The opt-out preference is a necessary first-party cookie retained for one year so the site can remember the choice. Clearing that preference withdraws the saved opt-out, after which automatic analytics can resume on the next eligible visit. The authenticated site administrator is excluded automatically. A separate session cookie is used only to protect the email sign-up form.

Consent and analytics requirements vary by jurisdiction. This first-party implementation and its opt-out controls do not, by themselves, establish compliance with every law that may apply to a particular audience.

Data Sharing

CybrVillain's .plan does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the site and deliver requested communications, or when required by law, needed to protect rights or systems, or necessary to address abuse or security threats.

Children's Privacy

The site is not designed to solicit personal information from children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

Data Retention

Analytics visit records are retained for 180 days. Raw requests that never become a visit, such as crawler and link-preview requests, are removed after 90 days, and raw browser strings after 30 days. The analytics visitor cookie has a fixed maximum lifetime of 180 days, and the opt-out preference is retained for one year.

Email subscriber records, including unsubscribed addresses, are kept so the list can honor sign-ups and unsubscribe requests. Hosting and mail systems may retain technical and delivery logs according to their operational requirements.

Data Security

Reasonable technical and operational safeguards appropriate to the information handled are used. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

International Users

If you access the site from another jurisdiction, information may be processed where the site and its service providers operate. Privacy and consent requirements vary by jurisdiction.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the site's practices, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
