Come On, Uncle Vito

It's Monday morning.

VantaQueen and I haven't had an actual cigarette in four days.

I "quit" December 24th, which lasted about a month before working at a convenience store screwed that up. I never went back to my old pack-a-day habit, but two packs a week is still two packs a week. And right now we both want one.

Yesterday we tried keeping our brains occupied. Watched some TV. Ran some errands. Anything that wasn't sitting around thinking about cigarettes. Apparently my solution was code.

There's a project I've wanted to build for a while, but every time I thought about it I couldn't figure out what direction I wanted to take it. Yesterday, while actively trying NOT to think about smoking, something finally clicked. So I started writing code.

Now it's Monday morning, around 6:30, I've got a new project sitting in front of me, I still want a cigarette, and I'm REALLY not ready to go back to work. So if I've got some long-lost uncle out there I've never heard about, now would be a fantastic time to knock on my door.

"I'm your Uncle Vito. Here's a suitcase full of money."

I won't even ask where you've been for the last 54 years.

Come on, Uncle Vito. I have code to write.
