This Was Supposed to Be a Godot Plugin
It's Saturday morning, time to get back to code. Remember that little infection plugin I built for Zed Invasion? I posted a demo video on the Lonely Ranch Games Patreon a while back. Yeah. It's not so little anymore.
It's now called Naches Tech, and what started as a Godot plugin has become a standalone C++ system designed to work across multiple game engines. Yesterday was a hell of a coding day. The core now handles deterministic simulation, state management, and replay, and I've even got an actual Windows demonstration running. I'm not a UI guy, so this thing is UGLY. Godot, Unity, and Unreal Engine are now running Naches Tech and producing identical simulation results. Six phases down. One to go.
It's funny. I can spend an entire day building something that actually works, hit a milestone I should be proud of, and still wonder if any of this is going to succeed. Some days those doubts are louder than others. Lately they've been pretty damn loud. But I've been relentless for damn near 20 years. I'm not about to stop now.
Besides, there's more to my life than these monitors. Last night I put the code away and spent a couple hours cuddled up with VantaQueen watching TV. She eventually fell asleep on me. LOL. The code was still there this morning. More importantly, so was she.
I've got one phase left on Naches Tech, but I'm not spending all of Saturday staring at these monitors. Carrie and Crystal Lake are calling our names.
